Advantage GM/FORD?

there is a pidgin expression that says 'something d spoil fix some other one', meaning as one thing goes bad, there is a chance for another to get better. could that be the case for the car industry especially here in the USA?

we all are hearing about massive recalls for the Toyota cars and the other day, the US transport boss said to congress that Americans should not drive Toyota out rightly. there is no doubt that there is that concern but i wonder if if that was the case with, lets say Ford, he would have been so blunt.

nevertheless there is no doubt that Toyota has screwed up big time. in this business of cars where competition is so aggressive, it could be a serious set back for Toyota and an advantage for US car industry. hence it could aptly be phrased 'advantage GM/Ford'.
